Beautiful Vintage Lace, Satin, and Organza Strapless Sweetheart A-Line Wedding DressĀ & Off-the-Shoulder Jacket

The Justin Alexander dress I bought for my wedding day is absolutely gorgeous! I was hesitant about a strapless dress, but as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one for me. The dress fits snug (not tight, but comfortable) on the bust and is fitted on the bodice. It then flairs into the perfect A-line, not too full and not too slim. I felt like a princess without feeling miserable or uncomfortable in a huge dress that was a pain to move around in. This dress moved well with me throughout the day and was not too hot.

The dress is inspired by the vintage style point d'espirit and is made of tulle accented by embroidered lace. The hem of the dress features hand-placed lace. The back zipper is hidden by buttons and closures. The train of the dress is chapel length.

A soft, tulle off-the-shoulder jacket, embroidered with lace accents, comes with the dress as well. I did not wear the jacket on my wedding day, so it is in brand NEW condition.

Alterations
The dress received minor alterations from a professional atelier. The bust was brought in a couple of inches from the original size (from a 42.5 bust to a 40.5) and a supporting strap with clasps was added. The clasps allow for the bust to be pulled in tighter if needed (think similar to bra clasps). Additional padding inserts were also added for the bust. In other words, I was not busty enough to fill out the original size, so the atelier brought the bust in and created additional support to help me fill out the dress more/lift up the ladies a little bit!

The atelier also added buttons/loopholes for the dress to be bustled if desired. The dress can be bustled in the American bustle style (also called an over bustle). The dress can also remain unbustled and the buttons/loopholes are completely unnoticeable or can be easily removed without damaging the dress.

Condition
The dress shows minor wear and tear on sections of the hem--it is not damaged in any way, just a bit discolored from dirt as it dragged on the floor slightly while being worn. There is also one very small, brown-ish stain (the size of a thumbnail or so) near the neckline on the right bust. I have been told by a professional cleaning/preservation business that a basic cleaning/press will certainly clean up the hemline and remove the stain. The dress has been stored in its original, cloth bag from the bridal shop in a temperature-controlled climate (my smoke-free home). It has always remained hanging and not crumpled up. I have the original dress tags as well as attachable spaghetti straps that came with the dress but I did not use. I hope you love this dress as much as I do and choose it to wear on your beautiful wedding day!
